Living in Paradise
I spent many hours wandering this fell, my little house in the village below waiting for me at the end of each excursion. I remember so well the gentle breezes that made the ferns dance and the smell of the bay rise up to meet me as I walked along paths littered with grazing sheep. Here I found paradise. As I sat on the rocks and and gazed into the Druids circle my mind drew up images of the worship or sacrifices made here. Turning my gaze to the ever breathing bay below, I imagined horse drawn carriages filled with travellers making their way across the sands during low tide in a race against time. A time when the returning tide came ferocious and wild and without mercy for those who started their journey too late. A strange juxtapositon of gentleness and ferosity, yet so harmoniously entwined. Will I ever return here....perhaps only in my mind.
